The panel on nomadism will take place between 8:00-10:15 on Friday 2 April 2004 in room 520C&F of the Palais des Congrès in Montreal (Canada). The program will be as announced on this website. The standard audio-visual equipment provided include a slide projector and an over-head projector but a data-projector, to enable PowerPoint presentations, will also be made available. 80-slide carrousels are recommended, to prevent jamming, and all PowerPoint presentations will be loaded onto one lap-top, well ahead of the program, to allow a swift transition between the speakers.

Presentations are to be no longer than 15 minutes. Please be aware that this time will have to be strictly enforced. This will therefore allow the participants to give no more than an overview of their arguments. All are invited to present a more detailed discussion in their contribution for the volume on nomadism which is scheduled to appear as the fourth Cotsen Advanced Seminar. Contributions that have been presented in Montreal should preferably be in before Saturday 19 June 2004.

Additional information on this panel, and the conference as a whole, can be found at the website of the SAA. Queries can be send to us at <nomads@ucla.edu> or directly to the SAA:
   <tobi_brimsek@saa.org> for technical assistance
   <claude.chapdelaine@umontreal.ca> for organizational problems.

Contributions that will not be presented at either meeting should preferably also be in before 19 June 2004. The ultimate deadline for any contribution, including those presented in Montreal of Los Angeles, is Monday 15 November 2004. Please be aware that until the discussions on 23 June no limitations will be set for the written contributions to our volume. Some guidelines for contributors can be found at this website.

Reservations have been made in the UCLA Guest House for the duration of our workshop. This is on campus, one of the nicer parts of Los Angeles, walking distance from the venue of the workshop. The price for a double room is US$ 110 per night, including breakfast. The Guest House would like to know who how many guests to expect one month in advance, so please forward your decision on this to us before Friday 14 May 2004.
